Single Christians Who Are Unequally Yoked

As Single Christians we know that we are not to be unequally yoked with someone according to scripture.  It really is that simple, not easy but simple.

2 Corinthians 6:14(KJV)

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness

This scripture has caused lots of confusion for a lot of Christians, especially since one of the people in the relationship may have become a Christian after they have already been with someone.

However, we also know that we were once sinners ourselves and that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  So, does this mean that we are to just leave the relationship?

It is well known that the unbeliever will pull down the believer faster and stronger than what the believing partner can pull up the unbelieving partner.  If you are still single, then I would have to say the answer is yes.  Sometimes the unbelieving partner will become a believer a later time and at that point, the two of you can come back together.

Don’t put yourself in a position where you are constantly confronted with unbelief and unrighteousness.  Understand that if your partner is not willing to give their life over to Jesus Christ, then they will cause you to compromise the word of God.  It will then get easier each and every time.  Before you can look up, they will pull you away from your own relationship with Jesus.

Your life, doesn’t belong to you and as the creation of God, we are commanded to live by HIS commandments.  Know that God has a plan for your life to prosper you.  However, HE can only prosper you if you are in HIS plan and purpose for your life.
